The name Nacré is a French variation of the word nacre in which defines “mother of pearl” — the namesake of an incredibly strong, resilient woman who happens to be my mother, Perla.

In her early childhood, my mom learned to use life’s hurdles as motivation to work hard and persevere. Her courageous decision to immigrate to Canada as a single mother and build a life from the ground up, inspired everything that has shaped Nacré.
